Join us for a morning of Olympic-inspired fun, community spirit, and unforgettable moments on the ice. The Montclair Winter Games bring skaters and families together to celebrate confidence, creativity, and the champion within every skater — from first-timers to seasoned performers.
Whether you’re trying the ice for the first time, cheering on our exhibition athletes, or enjoying a free public skate with family and friends, this Winter Games event is designed to inspire and unite our community.
10:10 AM – Future Champions: Try Skating for Free
A perfect, low-pressure introduction to the ice!
New skaters can take their very first glide with the support of our friendly instructors. This session is ideal for children and beginners who want to explore skating in a welcoming environment. Note: All registrants under 12 must wear a helmet! Helmets not provided. Please bring a bike or ski helmet. Skate rental included. Registration required – Click here.
10:40 AM – Exhibition of Champions
Be inspired by our talented MSU Arena skaters as they perform Olympic-themed routines filled with artistry, skill, and spirit.
This exhibition features skaters of advanced levels — a great opportunity for young athletes to see what’s possible with practice, passion, and persistence.

11:10 AM–12:10 PM – Free Public Skate + Meet + Greet
Hit the ice for a free public skating hour and meet the exhibition skaters afterward for autographs, photos, and fun!
It’s a community celebration designed to connect skaters, families, and fans in the spirit of the Winter Games.

Rangers Girls Try Hockey Free
Ages 5-12
Take the Ice!
Watch your child take their “first steps” in hockey with a fun, one-day introductory session designed for kids ages 5–10 who have little or no skating experience. Led by the Rangers Hockey Development Team, this event kicks off the Junior Rangers Girls 2025–26 season at Bridgewater Sports Arena!
Each session includes:

Free gear: Rental skates and loaner hockey equipment provided for the day.

Pro instruction: Learn from the Rangers Hockey Development Team with support from a NYR Alum or Female Ambassador.

Meet & greet: Post-skate hangout with Rangers alumni or special guests.
This program is perfect for children new to the sport and not yet involved in Rookie League, Learn to Play, or other organized hockey programs. It’s the best way to experience the thrill of hockey for the very first time!
Monarchs Hockey & Skating
The Monarchs’ Learn to Skate/Learn to Play program is back!
This charitable organization is dedicated to promoting youth participation in organized sports, emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and fairness. Their mission is to foster self-esteem and essential life skills for a healthy and successful future. They invite all special needs athletes aged 3 and up to join in the fun.
