Learn to Play Hockey 
Learn the basics! Getting started in hockey has never been easier or more convenient! This introductory program will teach your child the basic skills of skating, stick-handling, passing and shooting through (10) 1-hour lessons. In addition, they will learn the importance of hardwork, teamwork and sportsmanship.
RANGERS LEARN TO PLAY PROGRAM (10 and under)- Fall, Winter, Spring 2024-25
Your program fee includes:
- Free full set of equipment, including skates, for first time Learn to Play participants – This includes participation in a USA Hockey sanctioned program.
- Family-friendly schedule with 10 weeks of 1-hour sessions
- Professional instruction alongside Rangers staff
- Special appearances by Rangers Alumni
- 40 plus premier community rink partner locations across the Tri-State area
If you do not sign-up for your session of Learn to Play two-weeks prior to the start date of your session then we can’t guarantee you will receive your equipment before the first practice.

Learn to Play Hockey for ages 11 and up (including adults) SPRING Session 2024
For players that want to Learn to Play & “Want to be” Recreational player, this program will work on the basic skills of skating, stick-handling and shooting. Sessions will include game situations as a way to teach players to excel at the next level!
Full equipment required.
Fridays 4/19/24 through 6/21/24
5:10pm – 6:10pm
11 years old and up – Players will be divided up by age and skill level.
ALSO OPEN TO ADULTS!!
$299 for all 10 weeks.

Liu has an extensive coaching history in the NJ area, including growing the Hockey in New Jersey program to one of the largest Hockey is for Everyone programs across the NHL. Before playing 4 years at West Virginia University, he was part of the 2003 Randolph State Championship team that was inducted into the New Jersey High School Hockey Hall of Fame in 2018.
