Montclair State Ice Arena offers public sessions when possible. Whether you are ready to practice your skills after your latest class, are getting on the ice for exercise, or want to spend some fun time with the family. Check our online calendar and plan your visit to enjoy an exhilarating ice-skating experience enjoyed for nearly 5,000 years! For safety, we recommend all skaters wear helmets, such as hockey or bike helmets. Public skate times may occasionally change, so please verify via our calendar. Fridays: 9:10pm – DJ SKATE
Saturdays: 1:30pm

Sessions get added weekly! Always check the current ice schedule for updated public skate times. All registrations are non-refundable
Looking for ice to practice your skills, want to skate with your son or daughter, or a goalie looking for extra shots, why not try a stick and puck session. Stick and Puck Sessions are $20 and are offered during holiday times and other times throughout the year. During Stick and Puck, players of mixed ages and abilities can practice stick handling, passing, and shooting on the ice with other players. Sessions are added regularly so keep your eyes on the schedule!

Full equipment is required
Sessions are open to players of all ages, HOWEVER, players ages 8 and under must be accompanied on the ice by an adult (age 18+). Please bring your own pucks!
Stick and Puck is limited to 25 players total (including goalies)
ABSOLUTELY NO GAMES ARE TO BE PLAYED ON STICK & PUCK SESSIONS!
Sessions are non-refundable once purchases
Montclair State Ice Arena offers open hockey sessions all year round for many ages and abilities. Show off your skills in a relaxed, but organized game setting. After a 5 minute warm up teams are split up by jersey color and a fun game is played!

Sessions are offered and scheduled by specific age groups- there are no exceptions to age groups

Open Hockey is limited to 30 skaters and 4 goalies (First 2 goalies are free)
At least one family member must be 18 years of age or older for Family Open Hockey.
Adult Open Hockey – 18 Years and older only. Full equipment required.
Pricing – all public skate registrations are NON-REFUNDABLE. Pre-registration is not available.
