Montclair State Ice Arena is proud to host the MSU Men’s & Women’s Ice Hockey Teams Ice Hockey Teams, giving Red Hawk athletes a true home-ice advantage. Beyond university programs, the arena also serves as the training ground for Olympic and national-level figure skaters and medalists, making it a hub for excellence.
It’s not just about elite competition, though—the arena is deeply rooted in local youth development. The Montclair Blues Travel Youth Hockey Organization, home to over 450 families, plays and practices here. Several local high school teams, including Clifton High School, also call the rink home.

With more than 1,000 skaters each year, the Montclair Skating Academy is one of the largest Learn to Skate programs in the region. Following the Learn to Skate USA curriculum, skaters of all ages—from toddlers to adults—learn the fundamentals of skating in a supportive, structured environment.
For those who want to take the next step, the arena offers Learn to Play hockey, specialized clinics, and advanced figure skating programs led by professional-level coaches and former NCAA athletes.
