From Public Skating and Stick & Puck to Open Hockey, there’s something for everyone. Check the daily schedule for the latest sessions and come enjoy the ice at Montclair State Ice Arena.

  • Saturdays: 1:30pm
  • Sundays: 2:20pm

Stick & Puck

Looking for extra ice time to sharpen your skills? Stick & Puck is the perfect opportunity for hockey players of all ages and abilities to practice skating, stickhandling, passing, and shooting in a relaxed, non-competitive environment. It’s also a great chance for parents to skate with their young players or for goalies to get in some extra shots.

Stick & Puck sessions are offered throughout the year, with additional ice times often available during holidays and school breaks. Sessions are $22 per participant. Be sure to check the daily schedule regularly, as new sessions are added throughout the season.

Please Note: As of August 1, full hockey equipment is required for all Stick & Puck participants.

  • Sessions are open to players of all ages, HOWEVER, players ages 8 and under must be accompanied on the ice by an adult (age 18+). Please bring your own pucks!
  • Stick and Puck is limited to 25 players total (including goalies)
  • ABSOLUTELY NO GAMES ARE TO BE PLAYED ON STICK & PUCK SESSIONS!
  • Full equipment is required
  • Sessions are non-refundable once purchases

Open Hockey

  • Montclair State Ice Arena offers open hockey sessions all year round for many ages and abilities. Show off your skills in a relaxed, but organized game setting. After a 5 minute warm up teams are split up by jersey color and a fun game is played!

  • $22 per player

  • Sessions are offered and scheduled by specific age groups- there are no exceptions to age groups
  • Open Hockey is limited to 30 skaters and 4 goalies (First 2 goalies are free)
  • Adult Open Hockey – 18 Years and older only. Full equipment required.
  • At least one family member must be 18 years of age or older for Family Open Hockey.
  • Full equipment is required
  • Sessions are non-refundable once purchases
