Our Team

Deana Sroka is the Skating Director at Montclair State Ice Arena and has been coaching skaters for more than 30 years. A U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medalist, she specializes in figure skating, hockey skating, and moves in the field. Deana trained under renowned coach Carlo Fassi for 15 years and is a 2025 Eastern Open Masters Synchronized Team Champion, two-time Adult Silver Dance National Champion, and 2017 Eastern Adult Masters Intermediate Novice Champion. Passionate about helping skaters of all ages succeed, she is dedicated to building confidence, skills, and a lifelong love of skating.

Chris Knapp serves as Operations Manager at Montclair State Ice Arena, overseeing the day-to-day operation of the facility and helping ensure a safe, welcoming, and exceptional experience for every guest. A graduate of East Stroudsburg University with a degree in Recreation Management, Chris previously worked at the University of Delaware, where he gained experience in every aspect of arena operations. A Northern New Jersey native and lifelong hockey player, he is proud to be back in the community where his passion for the sport began.

Andrea Astorga has been a valued member of the Montclair State Ice Arena leadership team since 2014. A Montclair State University alumna and lifelong skater, she oversees the arena’s events, birthday parties, and food and beverage operations, helping create memorable experiences for every guest. Andrea also shares her passion for skating as a Learn to Skate instructor, making an impact both on and off the ice.
