Montclair State University Ice Arena summer camps WOW your skater with a summer they won’t soon forget!

With over 35 hours of combined on- and off-ice development each week, players become stronger, more well-rounded athletes while enjoying a memorable summer experience.

Camp Overview

Montclair State Ice Arena Hockey Camps are designed to help players of all levels improve their skills, build confidence, and have fun on the ice. We focus on strong skating fundamentals as the foundation for shooting, stickhandling, and passing.
  • Full-day programs
  • Minimum of 3 hours of on-ice training daily
  • Structured off-ice training and activities

Junior Rangers Hockey Camp

August 3-7 | | Full Day Camp | $800
  • NY Rangers elite training for your young fan! Professional coaching from Rangers alumni, ambassadors, and hockey ops staff delivers:
  • Full-day experience: On-ice skill drills + off-ice conditioning + classroom sessions + recreational games
  • All campers get: Official Junior Rangers jersey + performance T-shirt

Two skill-matched divisions:

Development (7-9 & 10-12): Perfect for recreational players building fundamentals
Skaters & Goalies: Separate groups for 2018-2020 & 2014-2017 birth years

Speed Week Hockey Camp

Shoot-it Camp

Maffei's Mites Hockey Camp

July 27 – 31: Full Day – 9:30am – 4:30pm | $699

Nick Maffei

Nick Maffei specializes in introducing young players to hockey through fun, engaging, and development-focused programming. As Director of Maffei’s Mites, Nick combines skill-building with gameplay to help players build confidence, develop strong fundamentals, and fall in love with the game. He has coached across House League and Montclair Blues programs and believes early hockey experiences should be built around FUNdamental development.

Precision Puck Combine

August 24-28 | 8am – 5pm with Coach Adam Carlo | $749
2017 & older | Lunch included
  • Give your player measurable results they can see. This 5-day development combine is built around real progress — starting with baseline testing, followed by targeted training, and finishing with a final evaluation to track improvement.
  • Each player will leave with a personalized report card, outlining their performance, progress, and areas for continued development.

Led by USA Hockey Level 4 Coach Adam Carlo, players will focus on:

  • Skating efficiency that translates to game performance
  • Puck control under pressure
  • Hockey IQ and situational decision-making
  • Building a complete skill set for higher levels of competition

Players leave with:

  • A detailed performance report card
  • Clear before-and-after results
  • Increased confidence on the ice
